What’s not to love about the flavours of lemon and lavender? The perfect loaf for afternoon tea or a brunch.

 2 ⅓ cups sifted all-purpose flour
 2 tsp baking powder
 ½ tsp salt
  cup butter
 1 ⅓ cups granulated sugar
 2 eggs
 2 Tbsp sugar
 ¼ cup plain yogurt
 ¾ cup milk
 1 Tbsp lemon zest
 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl. Set aside.

In another large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar together until smooth and pale. Add the eggs and yogurt and beat until smooth.

Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk on low speed. Stir in the lemon zest, juice and lavender buds.

Spoon into the loaf pan.

Bake in a 350°F oven for 60 minutes.

Let cool on a wire rack.

Note: If using the de Buyer loaf pan, multiply the recipe by 1.5
