This is a variation on a recipe shared with me by a man named Flash, the late Bill Gordon of Orillia. This will warm you up on even the coldest of winter days!

1 cup brown sugar
¼ lb butter, softened
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp nutmeg, freshly grated

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients except for the rum. With an electric mixer, beat, until smooth.

Place in plastic container and store in the refrigerator.

To make a hot buttered rum, scoop out 2 heaping tbsp. of the mixture and place in a mug. Add 1 oz. of Captain Morgan 0 alcohol rum and top with boiling water.

Stir until the mixture is dissolved.
